Paultons Park Wins Best UK Place2go!
Paultons Park, in Hampshire has been voted the national winner of the first Best
UK Place2go award. The awards, sponsored by Raring2go! the national network of local
‘what’s on and where to go’ magazines aimed at parents of children 0-11, encouraged
school children nationwide to vote for their favourite place to go by sending in
a picture of their nomination.
The competition was entered by over 3,000 school children in towns and rural areas
that are covered by the Raring2go! network up and down the country. As a result
Paultons Park, in Hampshire, attracted the most votes to become the most popular
attraction in the UK, beating off competition from ‘Legoland,’ ‘Whipsnade Zoo’ and
‘Twycross Zoo,’ who finished 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respectively.
Rob Griffiths, Marketing Manager for Paultons Park, says: “We are proud to be the
first winners of the Raring2go! Best Place2go Award. It’s a great achievement for
us. The award was voted by children, and it therefore gives us a real sense of success
and shows that we are truly providing children and their families with a great day
out.”

the time they spend with their children isn’t wasted. This competition has been
a great catalyst in bridging the gap between parents, their children and what makes
a good day out for all the family.”
Those children that voted for the competition also had their colourful and often
detailed drawings of their favourite day out judged for an individual prize of a
family trip to Walt Disney World in Florida, won this year by 6 year old Isabelle
Cain, from Dore in Sheffield. Her school, St. Wilfrid’s, in Sheffield, also received
a prize of 15 laptops or 500 books or £5000 in cash!
